Welcome to Body Image Coach, a team of coaches, therapists, administration and volunteers. We excel in a range of skills to support clients in their mental health around body image disorders. Each staff member brings qualified, accredited and governed expertise as well as our lived experience in body image disorders. Between us we have over 30 years’ experience working in mental health as well as eating disorders and BDD and have witnessed amazing results in a young person’s healing. Meet The Team
Antoinette Carter
Director

With over 10 years of experience in the field of data protection and GDPR management, Antoinette brings a wealth of expertise in law and the welfare of vulnerable individuals. She has served as a rights advocate and GDPR manager at Islington Council, specialising in developing policies and procedures, as well as managing 'risk' and handling high-end complaints.
​
Antoinette is a highly respected member of our team, contributing significantly to the framework of Body Image Coach. Her interest in our organization stems from her personal struggles with body image, and she is passionate about establishing a robust framework that schools can adopt as part of their PSHE and SEAL.
We value Antoinette's commitment and dedication to our mission, and she plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation of data protection and GDPR measures within our organisation.

Olivia Bowden
Coach and content creator
Accredited by the The National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists (NCIP), Olivia holds various qualifications that compliment her delivery and performance, including a coaching foundation degree, continuous eating disorders and BDD training, diplomas in counselling and MBSR, and EFT, PTLLS, PQ coaching, IFS and business studies.

Olivia has authored several self-help books and accumulated well over a decade of experience working with GP’s, hospitals (CMHT), Mind, and IAPT services. Additionally, she has facilitated peer support groups across Southeast London.
​
Olivia's expertise lies in providing and delivering exceptional psycho-educational content for schools and young people dealing with body image disorders and other mental health difficulties. Her previous work encompasses 1-1 coaching, training and content creation. Olivia is a valued member of the team, contributing to coaching, training, content development, and administration.

Her passion for supporting young people stems from her personal struggles with body image disorders. Olivia is the founder of Body Image Coach, aiming to reach out to teens in need of support. Recognising the critical nature of adolescence in shaping healthy beliefs and habits related to self-perception, she aspires to be the missing link by creating an early intervention for schools. Her goal is to ensure that no child is left to struggle alone, as she did.

Jane Richardson
Director
​
Jane is a Director with Body Image Coach, contributing to business development and school support. With a background in marketing, communications, the criminal justice system, as well as the arts and youth work, she is currently pursuing a Master's in Psychology at Leeds Beckett University. Jane also serves as a trustee for a mental health charity in Wakefield.
As an advocate for young people, Jane recognises the unique challenges they face, especially during adolescence, and is eager to work with teenagers, empowering them to shape the future they aspire to attain.
She is a valued member of the team, supporting administration and growth. Jane joined us as a volunteer due to her personal experience with body image difficulties and private school life, stating that it can be a painful experience when parents aren't around.
Jennie Penkul
Psychotherapist for Parents

Accredited by the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), Jennie is a psychotherapist with over twenty years of experience, specializing in body image issues and, where possible, working with families.
Jennie holds a BSc Honours degree in Counselling from Anglia Ruskin University and a Certificate in Supervision. Additionally, she studies continuous eating disorders and BDD training and serves as a trustee for a charity and practices privately in schools.
With lived experience of the challenges faced by families of young people dealing with body image difficulties, Jennie is passionate about the urgent need to support young people and parents in overcoming psychological challenges.
She employs an integrative approach, drawing on various forms of therapy tailored to the specific needs of clients. Jennie is a highly esteemed member of the team that provides client and parent support and therapy.

Adam Penkul
Psychotherapist for teens and adults

Accredited by the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists (NCIP) and the National Counselling Society (NCS), Adam has been working with clients for over seven years, specialising in body image disorders and studies continuous eating disorders and BDD training .
​
Adam holds a master's degree in psycho-spiritual psychology and wrote his thesis on the subject of body dysmorphia. He is trained and accredited as a psychotherapist.
​
With a background in studying and practicing meditation and mindfulness in the tradition of Plum Village, Adam also has a keen interest in the potential of alternative, holistic approaches to healthcare.
​
Adam's approach is relational, compassionate, and professional. He aims to act as a support, a guide, and an educator for those who feel alone and lost, caught in the distressing cycles of body image concerns.
​
Adam joined forces with us due to his past experience with body dysmorphia and his desire to help young people avoid suffering and take steps toward their recovery.
